Hela Apparel Holdings Receives ISO 14064-1:2018 Certification – Business News

The Hela team receives a certificate from the Sustainable Future Group

Marking a key milestone in its journey towards sustainability, Hela Apparel Holdings has received the prestigious ISO 14064-1:2018 certification from the Sustainable Future Group (SFG).

ISO 14064-1:2018 certification was awarded to Hela in recognition of the group’s efforts to establish a framework to quantify and report its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in accordance with strict ISO requirements as well as implementing a carbon management plan to work towards reducing emissions where possible. A full group-wide GHG inventory assessment was completed, which included all applicable direct and indirect Scope 1, Scope 2, Scope 3 and Scope 4 GHG emissions.

“I would like to congratulate Hela on achieving ISO certification,” said Faris Fausz, Managing Director of SFG.
“Hela demonstrates a strong commitment to reducing its impact on climate change by thoroughly, transparently and appropriately measuring and reducing its carbon footprint, in accordance with the highest international standards, including ISO 14064-1:2018.”

Hela continuously strives to be a responsible manufacturer and has implemented multiple sustainability initiatives to reduce its environmental impact. Many certifications of sustainability and environmental compliance of factories testify to these efforts. In particular, Hela has obtained both the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) and the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and is working towards B Corp certification.

“This ISO certification demonstrates our continued drive to improve our sustainability efforts despite the global and local challenges we face today,” said Shameen Peiris, CEO of Hela Intimates.

“Hela is committed to being at the forefront of the apparel industry’s drive towards carbon neutral growth with the aim of a sustainable future for the industry. This certification is a reaffirmation of our long-term commitment to help reduce our environmental impact.

As all other sustainability performance areas impact GHG emissions, Hela will also set new energy, water and waste reduction targets that will support the achievement of its reduction targets. GHGs. The next step will be to define and obtain third-party approval of a short-term GHG emissions reduction target and a net zero target under the SBTi, as well as draft KPIs supporting the SBTi reduction target and the realization of true Net-Zero.
