LSU pulls out his white helmets, Ole Miss sends him back, and more highlight the best college football uniforms for week 12


In Week 12 of college football, there is a lot to watch in the home stretch of the season.

Some teams are playing for bowl eligibility, while others are battling for one of the four college football playoff spots. Sadly, some schools don’t have a playoffs to look forward to and just spoil it.

Outside of the action on the pitch, the teams brought in the heat with their standout uniform selections this week.

LSU brings back a beloved fit for his game on Saturday, and Oregon State honors his past as a bowling winner. Other schools have paid tribute to the armed forces, represented their hometown and launched new looks and more with their match day wear.

Here are some of the best outfits across the college grill:

Rarely seen sets

Faces of LSU Louisiana-Monroe this week, and the Tigers are releasing popular threads for the occasion. LSU has swapped the traditional yellow / white / yellow combination for its white / purple / white ensemble. The team last wore this outfit in 2019 against Vanderbilt.

Virginie Tech revives an old look, wearing a brown / white / brown outfit for the first time in three years. This wardrobe selection has treated the Hokies well in the past, holding a 34-30 record in this color combination since 1987, according to the school website.

Gray is the color of choice for # 25 Mississippi State Bulldogs this week, with brown acting as an accent shade. This is the second gray jersey in the history of the program; the other was worn in 2018, by HailStateUniforms.

It’s time to reject it

The State of Oregon honors its 2001 Fiesta Bowl team for its sons back this week with the orange shadow behind the numbers, the beaver logo on both sides of the helmet and the orange collar on the jersey.

The Trojan Trojans‘This week’s uniform features an oversized decal, the first time the team has used such a logo on their helmet. The player’s number is on the helmet as well, something that hasn’t happened since 1966. Plus, the Trojans had the help of some cute friends to help them decide on their fit this weekend. .

New combinations

No. 23 UtahThe uniforms are based on the USS Salt Lake City, a heavy war cruiser used during World War II. This cruiser fought in most of the Pacific Fleet’s combat engagements of World War II, and the handcrafted helmet design represents one of those epic battles at sea, according to the team video.

The Arizona State Sun Devils are launching a new combination against the State of Oregon, going for a brown / white / black look. The helmet is the flagship piece, with the iconic school logo and player number on the left side.

No. 11 Baylor will have a new look for his date with Kansas State, with a green / white / green ensemble on Saturday.

Heat helmet

No. 15 UTSA unveiled a new helmet this week, with a glossy finish to its logo and “210” on the left side representing the San Antonio area code.

UCF uses his headgear to honor the armed forces for his Military Appreciation Day. All six branches are shown on the center strip, and each player will have the option of choosing which branch goes on the back collar of the helmet.

No. 12 Ole Miss has his vintage lids ready for his clash against Vanderbilt. The Rebels will wear their powdered blue helmets with the player’s number on the right side. This is the first time this headgear has been worn since 2019, and the team will complete the look with navy jerseys and gray pants.
