Meander Apparel opens outdoor stores in Edinburgh and London


OUTDOORS brand Meander Apparel is opening stores in Edinburgh and London after securing a £350,000 investment.

The company opened a pop-up store on Edinburgh’s George Street in October 2020 and has now added a permanent store in the city’s Stockbridge area.

Co-founder Jill Henry said: “We are extremely delighted to open our new store and head office in such a beautiful store in Stockbridge.

“We traded for the [past] two years on George Street, which has been amazing for our brand, but we wanted a bigger space for our growing head office team and where we can run our e-commerce business, which this store does perfectly.

The George Street branch will remain open as Christmas approaches, before closing in January.

Co-founder Steve Henry added: “We are ambitious and want to grow our Scottish brand to become a leader in the outdoor clothing market, but we need to do this in a long-term sustainable way, which means we have to be profitable. stores.

“The move to Stockbridge will allow us to focus on building the brand and the addition of the Seven Dials store in London puts us in a central London location which is incredibly exciting.”

Meander Apparel also has a shop in Spitalfields Market in East London and will open a branch at Seven Dials in Covent Garden next month.

Famous fans of the company include Virgin founder Sir Richard Branson and Olympic cyclist Callum Skinner.

The brand also donates 1% of its sales to environmental associations.
